Our Team
Radical Real Estate
With over 70 years of combined experience and the same core values, we knew forming the Be NYC team would give our clients the absolute best experience in one of their most important life events.
We are Alessandra, Marc, Colin, and Barry of the Be NYC team and we love this city as much as you do. Whatever move you’re making, we’re here for the long haul.
Alessandra DeLaCruz
The Apartment Shaman
Take Alessandra’s hand as she guides you in manifesting the home or buyer of your dreams. Working with Alessandra includes tears of joy, both street and book smarts, and she is always walking away with a deal.
Alessandra’s experience straddles both the commercial and residential markets with an emphasis on a nurturing yet savvy approach. Originally from upstate NY, Alessandra has called NYC home since 2004 after moving here for art school. Alessandra connects on the deepest levels with her clients to best understand their needs. As a homeowner three times over herself, she helps turn the headaches of house hunting and home showing into an enjoyable and educational experience.
Alessandra’s magic has infused the Be NYC team with love, compassion, and a keen eye for detail.
-
Alessandra’s parents always taught her the value of a hard earned dollar. She started many businesses as a child, which fueled her entrepreneurial spirit. When she was 8, Alessandra picked fruit and sold it door-to-door. Her next enterprises included selling nail polish at the top of her residential street for $1, making and selling jewelry at craft fairs, and holding down 3 jobs at the local mall.
-
“Be Love” is Alessandra’s life mantra, it’s even tattooed on her wrist. Alessandra aspires to impart this mantra in every action personally and professionally. When she started “being love” in 2015, she coincidentally started seeing love graffiti all over the city. Follow her on Instagram to join in on her serendipitous street art love-filled posts.
At the same time in 2015, Alessandra switched to a plant-based lifestyle that led her to find more harmony and balance in her life as a thriving vegan ever since. She makes a mean risotto, smoothies for days, and can point you in the direction of the nearest local vegan bakery. Even her rescue dog Guapo eats plant-based food!
-
Volunteering is an important part of Alessandra’s life. After going to Kenya in 2011 as a volunteer art teacher, she became the board president of The East African Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children. She volunteers locally through New York Cares, is on the leadership team for Women of Compass who furthers women in the tech/real estate spheres, and volunteers feeding the homeless population of Albany NY with Joseph's House.

Fun Facts
-
Barry always had a deep admiration for Brooklyn brownstones. From the tree-lined streets, the rich chocolate brown stone facades, and the warm vibrant community, it was only a matter of time before Barry and his partner found their dream home in Brooklyn - a 130 year old historic brownstone, to be precise! After closing the deal in 2018, the couple set on an exciting design, DIY and restoration journey that would change their lives forever.
-
When Barry and his partner started restoring their newly bought historic brownstone in Brooklyn, they thought it would be fun to document the whole journey. Little did they know that their passion project would blow up online, attracting thousands of readers and views and be featured in The New York Times, Apartment Therapy, ABC’s Good Morning America, and more!
As their followers grew on social media, people started reaching out for help. One yes led to another and, before they knew it, their business, Brownstone Boys, was born. Check out the Brownstone Boys’ latest renovation project on their YouTube channel!
-
Before settling down in his dream brownstone, Barry moved around Brooklyn, hungry to explore all the different neighborhoods and embrace their individual quirks and eccentricities. He has lived in Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Clinton Hill, and Bedstuy. No need to have Google Maps when you have Barry by your side! He’s going to walk you through the cutest hidden alleys and take you to the most loved mom and pop stores in town.
